Shit just got real! We are now giving away tickets and a whole lot more for the MNUSIC album launch in Jo’burg, at MiHouse in Selby. No jokes. This is a big GIMME-GIMME! If you’re a Desmond fan (or want to be one) you kinda need to check this out.

A little while back, Sony Music gave us the chance to interview four guys on a couch with a delicious cup of coffee at Warm & Glad on Jan Smuts. These weren’t any four ordinary guys, mind you. They were Desmond & the Tutus, one of our favorite bands. We’re kinda biased here at Another-Day, since Jaz and myself have been following the band over the years from the heyday of 88 Lounge and Sunningdales Motel… Remember them? So when we got offered the chance to sit down and have a chat with the guys, we jumped at the opportunity! Right out of our seats, actually.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: Pretoria has never made sense to me.

What I do get, however, is why folks would want to party like drunk indie rockstars there. That’s why we were in P-Town anyway: for the first leg of The Desmond & The Tutus ‘MNUSIC’ album launch tour. Considering the night we’d had before, I’m still a little surprised we could stand, let alone dance.

But hey, when Zim Zala Bim commands it…

Everyone loves Desmond & The Tutus, right? They released their “Mnusic” video for Tattoo a lil’ while ago and here’s another one – ‘Zim Zala Bim‘, featuring Dobson the Mysterious (“fucking rats”). Just like everything this band does, the video delivers a whole lotta amusement and is something that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s definitely safe to say that Desmond & The Tutus are well in a league of their own and are one of the best live acts that the country have to offer. We’ve had a sneak peek listen to the new album ‘Mnusic‘ and believe us when we say that it’s been worth the wait.

As if this Friday couldn’t get any better! Firstly, it’s the day before the Jozi Craft Beer Fest and now Desmond and the Tutus gift us with the second single off their new album, MNUSIC, and boy-oh-boy is it a hottie! A song about a trippy magician? That combines at least two of our favorite things! YES PLEASE! I don’t know about you guys, but the more I hear about this album, the more my body tingles with uncontrolable joy. MNUSIC is coming soon and is going to be amazing.

Trust South Africa’s number one indie/dance band to release their new single Tattoo on Youtube before Soundcloud. Desmond and the Tutu’s will be releasing their highly anticipated sophomore Mnusic later in May. And from what we have heard from their live shows we are most certainly in for another great album. Filled with great sing-a-longs for all of us to sink our teeth into.
