Man, we really are in the era of good tampon/pad/feminine hygiene product advertising, aren’t we? So here’s how this went down: last week a guy named Richard Neill cleverly posted on UK maxipad maker Bodyform’s Facebook page, saying the company had lied to him in their advertising, making him think that periods featured blue liquid and extreme sports.

Gender Stereotypes. Lol. Filmmaker Jason Headley provides an amusing look at a staple of dating. Specifically, he says every man’s heard the words “Don’t try to fix it. I just need you to listen.” and I don’t think he’s entirely wrong. Human beings fall into stereotypical patterns of behaviour because of commonalities in our bodies of experience (and an unwillingness to resolve each experience internally) that dictates our responses to new experiences.

You know why the rhino are extinct? Because they are big and dumb and slow and cannot fit in car windows. A group of impala were on the run (the hop?) in the Kruger National Park, passing by some parked tourists, with cheetah giving chase. With nowhere else to go, one of them made the wise move to hide out where no cheetah could reach it, apparently.

Ah no. Director Steve Loveridge has spent the better part of a year working on a documentary about MIA but yesterday he pretty much called it quits, releasing a video teaser for the project on his tumblr before announcing he was done trying to work on the documentary. Below you can watch the teaser, which Loveridge produced as proof of concept for MIA’s label, but the doccie’s since run into funding problems.

So apparently Kanye West has released the video for Black Skinhead, his first single off Yeezus. The lack of realistic textures makes it, uh, kinda look like Grand Theft Auto 3 which, you know, came out in 2001. It makes me want to file this one under “Aht” instead of “Video” but I’m pretty sure that’d feed into whatever Kanye’s trying to do, which is probably just piss people off again.

Say what you will about director David Fincher‘s adaptation of Stieg Larson’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo but if nothing else, it gave us Rooney Mara. And she was great. This new Fincher-directed commercial reunites him with his star, who he’s had washed out into almost Barbie Doll levels of plastic smoothness here, and throws in a little Yeah Yeah Yeahs for effect.
