Let’s just get back to the music shall we? mdnt is from Brooklyn and his style is mixing electronic and ambient sounds with powerful vocals, adding even more to the ever changing and growing genre of R&B and Soul.
Every now and then something truly creative and unique explodes onto the scene. In a day and age where we’re oversaturated in music and information, it’s truly hard to find anything that feels new and different. This is even more true of the Pop music scene: the ever-evolving beats which change to suit the current flavor of the month (currently dance hall-flavored tracks).
Returning with their third album The Poet’s Dead, the Canadian band Rah Rah is here to stay. After their first two smashing albums, the third promises even more. Here is the first single off the album, yet again featuring the amazing vocals of Marshall Burns and Erin Passmore.
Mozella comes straight out the heart of Detroit. Her fourth album The Brian Holland Sessions is about to drop and yes like the title suggests the album has been produced by Motown legend Brian Holland. We love ourselves a little bit of Motown soul here at Another-Day. So please join us for a little bit of office jiving.
There is just something about bands from Brooklyn isn’t there? I’ve wanted to live there since I was 12 years old. Why? Cause of bands like this. Baby Alpaca reinforce everything about the music base there that I love. Quirky, catchy, Indie Rock that reels you in. The band has a dream rock vibe with vocals which sound like a combination of Chris Isaac and Depeche Mode.

If you haven’t heard about Grimes yet, here’s the skinny. She’s Claire Boucher from Canada. Her music career started in 2010 with her debut album Geidi Primes, which, strangely enough, was released on cassette tape. In 2012 she was picked up by British label 4AD after her successful tour with Lykke Li, who she opened for stateside.
Now, Now’s sound reminds me a lot of Metric, I’m not complaining though, I welcome Emily Haines-like vocals over a rocking sound any day. The band recently released their second album Threads and are currently signed to Chris Walla’s (Deathcab for Cutie guitarist) label, Trans Records.
