So it looks like Tropika have stumbled into the land of the “experience” campaigns that seem to be popping up. With their video titled “You’re a sip away from Jamaica. Massive Melrose Arch takeover. South Africa”, the brand taps into the magic of that rather well known recent TNT one involving a big red button. The difference is that Tropika is all about the island living vibes, so they kinda worked that into the mix when passersby were offered the chance to take a sip of Tropika and then all island jazz hell breaks loose.

Now, because it’s so similar to that TNT commercial, you may be tempted to overlook this one, but it’s important to remember that in advertising – as in life – nothing is truly original (except, you know, when it is). I think the important thing to remember here is that a local brand is actually getting into the swing of things with something a little different. And hey, this whole thing looks pretty complex. It’s sort of a wonder that anyone could pull it off.
