Thug Thursdays: Rahzel – ‘All I Know’ & ‘If Your Mother Only Knew’

By Kat Maponyane

“Thug” has many faces and comes in different forms. It may not necessarily always be Rap/Hip Hop and RnB. It will be old and also new. Hell, I may even throw some country into the pot, or whatever I deem to be “thug”. Depending on my mood, every week I’ll be bringing you my selection of the worst, best, funniest, weirdest videos whether you may have seen them or not.

I almost died this past weekend in Lesotho, and as much as I would love to tell you about my experience, I think I’d rather get on with the show.

RAHZEL needs no introduction. Beatboxing has been on the map since the birth of Hip Hop, but I think it’s safe to say RAHZEL is the reason it blew up into the mainstream. Drum ‘n Bass and now Dubstep beatboxers have “The Godfather of Noyze” to thank for the trade they ply today.

All I Know‘, from 2000′s Make The Music album is a great video and pretty much helps camouflage the fact that Rahzel is not a good rapper at all.

If Your Mother Only Knew’ was a mindfuck. Unfortunately, a much deserved video was never made, but every time I hear it I feel like a pre-millenium teenager all over again. This snippet shows the true mastery of Rahzel and how many people, to this day, still think that he was responsible for Optimus Prime’s voice as well as all the movements of all the Autobots and Decepticons.
