This weekend’s San Diego Comic Con looks like it must’ve been more epic than any year before it, and in keeping with that, Marvel Studios unveiled various details about its upcoming slate of Marvel superhero movies. Lots of interesting tidbits below…
I’ve talked a bit about Iron Man 3 before, but with the movie being the next in the slate, Marvel showed off a teaser reel to the folks attending Comic Con. They also had on display the new Iron Man armor that Tony Stark will don in his upcoming second sequel (and fourth movie appearance).
Check out more pics of the armor here.
Next up Marvel revealed the subtitle for the new Thor movie, hinting that Thor may be off to another of the nine realms that were hinted at in the first movie. Probably the Dark Elf world, since it seems to match up best with the title. They also gave us the subtitle for 2014′s Captain America sequel…
This hints at a recent popular plotline from the Cap comics involving an enemy who’s from Cap’s past in WWII coming back to haunt him. Sounds exciting. Marvel then revealed the logos and officially announced their next two films. Both are strange and interesting choices. The first is Guardians of the Galaxy, a sort of “Cosmic Avengers” team whose roster includes a talking raccoon and a giant walking tree. And the other is the long-awaited Edgar Wright-directed Ant-Man. Wright is, of course, the director of Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim vs The World, which means that this movie is prolly gonna be fucking amazing.
Here are the logos…
That’s it for now. You as excited as I am?
