How cool is this? Yep, that’s soap. It was designed by Daniel Ting Chong (who lives and works in CT) and it’s now on sale in JHB at The Street in Greenside and Wolves in Illovo. Here’s what Dan said about the project:
“I collaborated with a soap maker in Johannesburg, South Africa. I wanted to make something quite quirky and fun. The Paintbrush has a lemon scent, the Cleaver has a strong peppermint scent and the Ice Cream is a combination of both.”
DTC was nominated by Mail & Guardian as one of the top 200 up-and-coming young talents in South Africa, and rightly so because this guy is a non-stop creative genius. You have to check the rest of his work here. HAVE TO! He’s done work for The New York Times; Bacardi and 2Bop to name but a few. No biggy.
To be honest, I don’t know if I would be able to clean myself with these awesome masterpieces, I’d rather hang them on my wall and get my room smelling nice. Not that my room smells bad or anything…
