Every weekend in Jo’burg brings with it an opportunity to party. Whether you like to get tanked, dance hard or play chess in a dark corner while people get tanked and dance hard around you, Jo’burg will provide you with options. The Another-Day team can’t be everywhere at once (although we try), but we do like to know what’s going on, just in case, and we bet you do, too. So every Friday we provide a few links and some info about the weekend’s parties and events.
Check it out below.

Cover’s R40 and the exhibition, which includes artwork and live visuals, begins at 20:00.
Shadowclub, Beast & Jet Black Camaro
R60 at Town Hall, Newtown at 9pm
Meanwhile, in Newtown, Jo’burg bands Shadowclub and Jet Black Camaro are hosting Cape Town’s latest rock ‘n roll outfit, Beast: a band made up of Lark‘s Inge Beckmann, Taxi Violence‘s Rian Zietsman and Louis Nel, and The Plastics‘ Sasha Righini. It’s gonna be a proper sexy, dirty rock ‘n’ roll gig like the ones The Bohemian pretends to have.

Park Acoustics & Jack Daniel’s presents Koos Kombuis, Guy Buttery, Shannon Hope and Bateleur
R80 at Fort Schanskop, Pretoria at 10:30am
So you stayed over in P-Town after your Saturday night at Arcade Empire. Now you can wake up and go chill in the park, listen to some chilled music and take in the Jack Daniel’s drinks specials. Sounds like a plan to me.
FREE at Mama’s Shebeen, Greenside at 1pm
And if you stayed in Jo’burg or if you make it back in time, Shortstraw are hosting another of their fabulous Boosh events. You can check out Look Out Kid, Yo Grapes, Kitsch, The Hip Replacements and, of course, Shortstraw! And it’s all free, but please, leave the boys a tip.
