I never thought I’d see the day that a Sonic The Hedgehog trailer started with a Hans Zimmer style “bwaaaaahhh” horn score. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Everything from our childhood is making a comeback and when it does, it’s coming back vewy, vewy sewiously. Bwwwwaaaaaaaaahhhhhh. Not that Sonic ever really went away, I guess.

Look, this is a universe in which 50 Cent had a video game, but he hasn’t been cool in years. Yeezy Yeezus though? Boy just keeps going from step to swagger-laden step. I guess that’s why someone decided he was the perfect candidate for a classic Japanese role-playing game. Everything about this seems awesome, from Kanye taking on a Tupac clone using his “Dark Fantasy” ability to the 16-bit remix of Power on the game’s soundtrack.

While a ton of people I know raved about the first season of decent-budget web series Mortal Kombat Legacy, I couldn’t make it too far in because it felt like someone’s idea for a bunch of things that weren’t Mortal Kombat banking on that franchise’s name. And that’s pretty much what it was: a glorified gritty inner city “superhero” take on characters who normally fight each other in a tournament in some mystical kingdom.
