Wow, I haven’t posted anything in two weeks. I’m ashamed. Please forgive me. And so much has happened in that time too. Jacob Zuma’s building a bunker that’s got the usual rabble trolling News24 and Lance Armstrong has officially been stripped of his Tour De France wins. Here’s my take on the last 2 weeks.

Untamed Youth is back in Jo’burg this weekend (Saturday, 13 October), and it’s a visit that’s been long overdue. Tommy Gun is going solo on this, blessing us with a DJ set for a full 7 hours! Yes, the Jozi Craft Beer Fest 2.0 is also going down on Saturday, but that ends at 18:00, so guess where the unofficial afterparty’s at (please, no drunk driving).
Wow what a weekend. I had a crazy one. Starting off with the amazing, Friday night was Untamed Youth Round 3. I had the pleasure of djing with my good friend The Duchess, and we had an unbelievably fun time. Thank you to everyone who danced and had a good time.

Back when I lost my testicles in what some call a “relationship” but I call a “knife fight for my soul with a venus fly trap”, I stopped drinking beer. I can’t explain why but I just lost my love for the taste of the stuff. I realize that you’re reading this from your desk right now, having thrown up on yourself; partly because of your disappointment in me, and partly because you’re on Beer #14 for the morning.
It was my first time going to Great Dane in Braamfontein since I’ve been back in JHB. I’ve heard only great things about the place so I was very keen to attend Untamed Youth there. I’m still sceptical about parking in town (whether it be CT or JHB) and worry about shit way too much, so I was ecstatic that I got the parking right in front of the door; a great start to the night.

When I went to CT in 2009, one of the first things I was introduced to on my nights out were the Untamed Youth parties held at Fiction on Long Street every Tuesday. I honestly thought it was the name of the resident DJ at first since his name was always at the top of the sign board outside… Regardless, it was the place to be – the very best in indie and nu-disco was played and I could easily dance the night away on the tiny dance floor with sweaty strangers.
