Nokia got 3 South African DJs to remix the good ol’ Nokia ringtone. We all know it (sorry if it’s playing back in your head right now), and we’ve all heard the many variations (the acoustic one was my personal favorite, until now), but you haven’t heard the 5 second melody like this before.
Oh yeah-uh! Got two tickets to Bon Iver at Radio City Hall tonight. Haters gonna hate. YOLOOOOOOO. I was gonna feature ‘Holocene‘ as the Track of the Day, but I’m gonna show some local love. Two years ago, Capetownian Das Kapital released this rerub of ‘Skinny Love‘ and it boasts over 70 000 plays as it was #1 on the Hype Machine weekly play chart.

This coming Saturday is the Red Bull Thre3Style DJ Battle, happening at The Alex Theatre in Braamfontein. We’re giving away a set of double tickets. This is not just another party, folks, it’s a showcase of some of South Africa’s greatest DJ talent and no, they don’t just press the ‘play’ button.
