GOLD, aka “The City of Gold-Diggers”, is a collaborative exhibition by Adele Prins and the illustration team & artists Jana+Koos. It aims to explore Jo’burg, its multifaceted lifestyles and seemingly unstoppable drive for the hustle. Egoli isn’t just the shitty soapie on TV. It’s a city built on the gold boom from the late 1880’s, and the ideology of striving for gold and making a quick buck has never left those that live and hustle in the city.
