Around the 2000s, Placebo released their third album: Black Market Music. At the time, their alternative sound and Brian Molko’s vocals were, and still are, very unique. There was an element of mystery with the band. Molko is pretty androgynous with the major topics covered in his songs, involving excessive drug usage and his bisexuality, themes that I generally wasn’t hearing from any other bands at the time.
