Until two days ago, I hadn’t even heard of Let’s Be Cops. Now I really wanna see it. If you’re like me, you’re only passing the time at the cinema till 22 Jump Street, the aptly-titled sequel to 21 Jump Street, comes out. Till then though you’re going to need to find a way to enjoy yourself and laugh at fake cops.

As I write this, I’m sitting and poring over footage for a video about religion and spirituality in Joburg. In a way, American Jesus, the documentary by director Larry Fessenden is exactly the kind of thing I’m looking for. Rather than just criticizing other people’s beliefs, it seems at least from the trailer that it’s more about probing why people in America have faith and why they worship.

The Signal is an interesting new film by direct William Eubank that popped up at the Sundance Film Festival and got many heads turning. I’ve praised the art of the strong teaser before with the three Transcendence pre-trailers but it’s still a balancing act between showing too much and being too oblique, and not everyone gets it right.

The trailer for Sin City sequel A Dame To Kill For is finally here. What has it been, more than 10 years since the first Sin City came out and paved the way for lazy filmmakers everywhere to produce hyper-stylized, shot-for-shot remakes of comic books they liked? The thing about the first Amazing Spider-Man was that I liked it a lot in spite of its failings. For every scene where the guy from Soul Man operated a crane, there was a pretty good character moment from leads Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. And the supporting cast was great.
