Star Wars Without Music Is Super Awkward [Video]

When I watch a good movie I’m pretty much bound to switch off at some point and forget that’s what I’m doing. That’s when I start to take the edits, the performances and the music for granted and just assume that Star Wars is a documentary about wartime in a galaxy far, far away. Thankfully the Auralnauts have provided a strong reminder of the power of a film’s score by removing John Williams‘ music from the final scene of Episode 4, dubbing in the appropriate footsteps and grunting in its place.

I can only imagine how shifty Darth Vader’s arrival to the Death Star would seem without the Imperial March blaring on in the background. Just the sound of breathing, boots and that plastic helmet of his making weird sounds whenever he turns his head. I’m not the biggest fan of the first Star Wars but I have to admit, I’d watch the entire film in this format if they were willing to go all the way and just do it. It’d make the lightsabre battles more sexual than they already are, I guess.
