For my money, Guillermo del Toro‘s Pacific Rim was one of the most exciting, awesome movies I’ve seen all year. There were giant monsters, giant robots, and giant monsters fighting giant robots. And now, behold! LEGO artiste OliveSeon has recreated some of the movie’s kaiju and robots, and the battles they took part in, in colorful, blocky fashion. But even the kaiju stuff aside, this artist does some amazingly detailed LEGO art – probably the most detailed that I’ve ever seen – including rendering Godzilla‘s flamethrower breath in intricate detail. Have a look for yourself.
But seriously, you need to check out OliveSeon’s gallery because the work in there is detailed as all hell. I’ve just attached the Japanese Sentai and Kaiju movie stuff, but there’s everything from Star Wars to regular old cityscapes in there for your perusal. It’s epic.
