The New ‘Lego Movie’ Trailer Is All Batman, Morgan Freeman [Video]

First try! We liked the look of the first The Lego Movie trailer but really, that only gave us a hint of what amazing things were to come. Namely, way more of Gob Bluth as Batman and Morgan Freeman as a wizard. Really, what more could you ask for anyways? From the directors of the first Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs, it’s a movie that’s obviously for kids but who cares, cos kids are way more awesome than adults anyway. And look, it stars Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman, Will Arnett and more!

Really, it almost feels like there should be a rule that no tie-in property movie for a toy brand should look as good and as fun as this one does, and yet here we are. There’s something to the Lego aesthetic that specifically makes this seem like it’s going to be fun. The impractical, fun and cartoonish bits (like where Batman has an endless number of Batarangs) is perfectly balanced against the practicality of a world that’s constructed entirely out of blocks of actual Lego that have their own physics. It’s the perfect melding of my childhood love of Lego and animation, I guess.
