Y’all know how much we like designer swag, right? Hell, when I have more time in my day, I’ll probably write a design and fashion feature myself. I may have to if we’re getting calls from the likes of the folks at Collective. That’s a new store, by the way. Collective is a large-scale, monthly pop-up shop that showcases the best of local design, jewelry vintage collections, ceramics, fabric, furniture, imported clothing, accessories, décor and all-round, beautiful products.
The idea here is that you get more than just a store but also an experience out of visiting, getting to sip champagne while you browse their eclectic catalogue of design and décor.
Find out when and where you can check this store out, plus take a look at some of the products being showcased, after the jump.
The store debuts this Saturday the 1st of December 2012 from 3pm till 9pm, at 3 Desmond Street, Kramerville (just off the Marlboro turn-off). It’ll also be open from 10am to 4pm the next day.
Collective’s Project Manager, Catherine Corry, who brought us the Neighbourgood Market in Braamfontein, handpicked every designer for the event and says, “We wanted a space that showcased the best of South Africa’s design talent for discerning Joburgers in an exquisite setting.”
Be sure to check out this new pop-up market, even if it is just to have a drink. The venue is a spacious rooftop that overlooks the beautiful Sandton horizon, perfect for sundowners. I have no doubt in my mind that Collective will be a success in the coming months, if Catherine Corry is managing it, it’s a guarantee that things will be running smoothly and that everything on display will be top notch.
