The Gays And Lesbians Back The Miners In ‘Pride’ [Video]

This looks great! Here’s a story that only the Brits could tell, yeah? Even if it is based on a true story. Pride is the Matthew Warchus directed story of that time members of the LGBTQ community banded together to help back coal miners whose small towns were being threatened by the UK government’s decisions to shut the source of their livelihoods down. It’s a story I hadn’t heard before and it looks like it’s being told here with a deft touch and some good humor.

Still, I imagine there are going to be some intense cry-worthy moments throughout this film. I don’t know how the British perfected a filmmaking style that allows them to so effectively tell the stories of simple people living in small towns, but I usually love it when they do so I’m excited to see how this one turns out.
