There are all kinds of issues with Darren Aronofsky‘s latest film, Noah, but one thing that he does get very, very right is his striking visual realization of the Biblical story of creation from good ol’ Genesis. If you haven’t seen the movie, it’s really something to behold, and a highlight for me. You can watch the whole story of creation sequence after the jump, and I really recommend that you do.
I have quite a lot of love for this classic Judeo-Christian story of Christianity. Maybe that’s because it’s been so universally repeated to us for generations or maybe it’s just because it is a compelling allegory, like the story of Prometheus. Either way it’s something that’s well worth sitting down to watch. My only complaint about it in the film was its positioning as the bridge between the second and first acts, rather than the first thing we see as the film begins.
