‘THE SLAP’ Surprisingly Captures As Much Intimacy As ‘The Kiss’ [Video]

Hey, so remember that video that went viral overnight of 20 “strangers” smooching each other? Yeah well, here’s the sequel of sorts, THE SLAP, an attempt by filmmaker Max Landis to explore the world beyond the soppy original resulting in something that’s funnily enough just as intimate as The Kiss Sure, there’ve been a shit ton of parodies made for internet laughs, and although Landis’ video is still funny to watch, it still raises some interesting thoughts in what he found lacking in Tatia Pilieva‘s The Kiss.

So the big question that Max Landis is asking – can a slap be more intimate than a hug? Totally, given that you trust the person to do so without aggressive intent. Think about it like this, there’s a difference between the times you jokingly wrestle with your best friend in the garden, compared with wrestling okes outside of Tiger Tiger, and that’s because there is no fucking way that I wanna hug it out with the latter boet after he was checkin’ out my bint.

At a first glance, THE SLAP is really funny. Come on, it’s people pimp-smacking each other. But if you also watch the video below, you can see Max Landis explain his thought process about his mini-Fight Club. Sure, you can accept that he’s just a pretentious prick and that everybody involved is an actor (which apparently they weren’t), but I think there is solid value in what he’s saying. Hugs and kisses are so outdated guy, as hipsters, we clearly need to make fist kisses a thing.
